When The Endless Summer Ends...

When The Endless Summer Ends...

We have been trained to get a vacation in the Summer and we were quite used to it.
We made plans and resolutions every Summer.
I planned to improve myself...
In video games...hah!
A fat friend of mine planned to exercise and reduce weight.
Our group planned to play football everyday.
Everything seemed smooth and achievable.
Engineering exams are conducted in the summer, needless to say we get a vacation in the rainy season.
Almost every plan seems difficult in the rainy season!

Endless Summer syndrome is a psychological situation when the summer doesn't seem to end.
Engineering exams are conducted for about the month...I know that's a long period.
But, it is like a vacation cause we get a lot of days for preparation between two consecutive tests!
( Say if we get 5 days, most people enjoy for 3 days and start their preparation on the 4th)
Though the time we spend studying and giving tests pass like a moment, the time we spend having fun seem neverending.

Let me clarify one thing...
Nobody plans to go for a picnic, read a book, or exercise in those resting days.
Our parents want us focused during those exam days, they'll never bear us reading a book other than that of exam's.
We can't afford to get injured in that season.
Exercise is a big no!
I don't need to tell you about the reaction of your parents if you tell them about your trip...
Believe it or not, those days are spent resting on the couch, watching TV and repeating chapter 1 over and over again!
( IDK why we spend more time on chapter one and the least time on the last chapter.
I remember me studying chapter 1 at least 3 times in the term and skimming through the last and that too on the day before the test)

Some people may experience that the process repeats after every test.
I think the main motto of conducting tests after a large gap is not letting students feel the absence of a vacation.
That is good in a way.
But it has a downside too!
We have a short official vacation after the exams get over...
When the summer is officially over!
Honestly, not more than a month.
And the plans where my fat friend wanted to exercise on the ground, spends his time watching series and animes.
The ground where our group wanted to play football is good for only the horses to stroll in. (Full of puddles)
Don't feel sad for us, we play football on the computer!

The remaining days are spent visiting grannies, nannies, uncles, aunts.
And Everytime we get asked about the exams...
Makes us contemplate that we didn't have a real vacation at all!
In the meantime, we get the reopening dates of the college.
That's it!

The vacation that started from the day the exams started comes to an end!
We think of resting on the last day...
But our Mom convinces us that we don't have good clothes to wear in the college and how badly we need them and takes us for shopping.

I know when my college will reopen.
I'm writing this on the last the day of the vacation.
I'll hopefully sleep all day but I'm getting the vibes that my Mom will take me to the shop with her.
Here ends the endless summer!

Fake influencers: The agents of manufactured reality

Fake influencers: The agents of manufactured reality How many public figures do you follow on various social media platforms? It’s great to be up-to-date with what’s going on in their life, isn’t it? Maybe you’re a big fan of his/her work or post feed. Their presence on social media ensures that they stay relevant to the culture and give their followers a chance to get a peek into their lives. A good amount of following can be used to create awareness, raise money for a cause and create a strong community. On the flip-side, it can also be used to push products/courses that benefit only the ones who sell them, and imbibe ideologies that are biased and serve no good to society. Many of such influencers sell us manufactured reality time and time again. It can severely affect our well-being as being the consumers of the same. There’s a lot of political tension in the world. People divide themselves based on countries, beliefs, races, genders, and ideologies. Most of them are ...

How did the professors adapt to online lectures?

How did the professors adapt to online lectures? Now that most of the colleges have started conducting lectures online, our monotonous lives have become even more monotonous. Waking up, attending lectures, completing the work assigned to us by the professors, and having some time for ourselves at the end of the day has become the new normal. The online education platforms have been a challenge for all of us that we have adapted to quite successfully. But we’re Gen Z! Most of us touch their phone first even before they touch their toothbrush in the morning. We have made technology a vital part of our lives. What about the ones who haven’t? What about the professors? Well, the online lectures were started right after the lockdown in the last academic year. It was like the resort to completing the syllabus and not the exact substitute for classroom lectures. But as it wasn’t safe to reopen the institutes while students’ academic year was seemingly going to waste, the online l...

Can FAUG replace PUBG in India?

Can FAUG replace PUBG in India? 26 January it is! Finally, after months of delay and advertising, the game ‘FAUG’ will be launched. The announcement of this game was done right after PUBG was banned. PUBG was the most popular game in India at that given time. It was beautifully crafted by its developers and was capable of giving a seamless experience even to the users with mid-budget phones. It had servers all over the globe to ensure a proper user experience. With that being said, it’s a challenge for the developers of FAUG to deliver a game based on the benchmark set by PUBG. Can they nail it? Is FAUG really worth the hype? Mobile Gaming in India: It’s appreciable that a Company from a country where the mobile gaming industry is booming is developing an actual multiplayer game. To be honest, it’s not an easy task. Along with the graphics and the physics of the game, networking should also be taken care of. And looking at what PUBG had delivered us, it is a big challen...
