Day one: High expectations

A day full of high expectations...

Is the perfect term to describe the first day in engineering college
Not because of something wrong or inferior but because of the hype and exaggeration created by society.
Engineering and medical colleges are the places where parents are proud to send their children...
Any other option is a shame to the most
Welcome to India!!!

When I entered the college premises for the first working day everyone was excited.
Folks were bragging about their entrance test marks.
In a nutshell, everyone was expecting to learn something related to the course they've opted for...
And many...
Sorry...I found out that the first-year engineering course is common to all the branches...I was unhappy

Chemistry, physics... The subject I was running from found me again.
The college has it's first day on Monday.
I wore a black T-shirt... unaware of the fact that you are supposed to wear white formals on Mondays!
I was looking like  one student from Hogwarts

I was nervous... I'm an introvert so don't make friends easily
I sat on the last bench, alone
Lectures on the first day were more of an orientation and I thought I was better on my couch sleeping all day watching the game of thrones.

I was surprised by the number of girls in the college less than 15 percent,
No wonder most Indian male engineers opt for arranged marriage...lol
An average, introvert guy like me had no chance for this four-year game
So I thought of writing this blog so I could reduce the regret of not being born in the house of Clooney's

Anyway... First day was not at all according to the expectations
Yes, I met some great teachers who were interested in teaching something new but teaching engineering for 30 fucking years made them less interesting...

So if it's your first day to the engineering college, my personal advice to you would be
Do not expect something new to happen in your life...
You won't be a computer programmer on the first day itself...
Have patience... And always expect the unexpected.

Fake influencers: The agents of manufactured reality

Fake influencers: The agents of manufactured reality How many public figures do you follow on various social media platforms? It’s great to be up-to-date with what’s going on in their life, isn’t it? Maybe you’re a big fan of his/her work or post feed. Their presence on social media ensures that they stay relevant to the culture and give their followers a chance to get a peek into their lives. A good amount of following can be used to create awareness, raise money for a cause and create a strong community. On the flip-side, it can also be used to push products/courses that benefit only the ones who sell them, and imbibe ideologies that are biased and serve no good to society. Many of such influencers sell us manufactured reality time and time again. It can severely affect our well-being as being the consumers of the same. There’s a lot of political tension in the world. People divide themselves based on countries, beliefs, races, genders, and ideologies. Most of them are ...

Can FAUG replace PUBG in India?

Can FAUG replace PUBG in India? 26 January it is! Finally, after months of delay and advertising, the game ‘FAUG’ will be launched. The announcement of this game was done right after PUBG was banned. PUBG was the most popular game in India at that given time. It was beautifully crafted by its developers and was capable of giving a seamless experience even to the users with mid-budget phones. It had servers all over the globe to ensure a proper user experience. With that being said, it’s a challenge for the developers of FAUG to deliver a game based on the benchmark set by PUBG. Can they nail it? Is FAUG really worth the hype? Mobile Gaming in India: It’s appreciable that a Company from a country where the mobile gaming industry is booming is developing an actual multiplayer game. To be honest, it’s not an easy task. Along with the graphics and the physics of the game, networking should also be taken care of. And looking at what PUBG had delivered us, it is a big challen...

A Sports festival with joy and sorrow

A Sports festival with joy and sorrow Just like every year, our college organized the annual sports festival! Everyone was happy and busy preparing for the festival. Students were selecting the teams for the different sports. Football, Cricket, Basketball, Relay races, and various indoor games were to be played in the college playground. The ground was leveled, the turf was cleaned and everything was set. 3 days at the sports festival gave us a chance to refresh our minds and a reason to bunk the lectures. Every college organizes such a festival. And if you look for yourself, all the names given to these sports festivals are weird sounding like the era of WW2. I’m pretty much impressed that such names manage to attract sponsors. Anyway, this event is pretty much fun. Some colleges allow participation from other colleges. This increases the competition, the crowd and the sponsors (Wink Wink). In our college, classes from all the branches and years form te...
