Finding friends for the journey

Finding friends for the journey...

Done with the first week, I was quite bored to have no one to talk to...
Even if I loved to do things alone, I had to find myself friends on whom I can rely for these 4 years and establish a bond of brotherhood and respect...
Enough of this shit, I wanted some people around who could help in my projects, compete my assignments and mark me present even if I've bunked the lectures.
Here is how I made my team and how each one of them represent a stereotypical student of an engineering college.

I prefer talking to the people who appreciate my poor jokes at any cost.
A small program in the college was a  great opportunity to socialize...
I knew I had to do that even if I don't like it.
I sat in the crowd where I started cracking jokes on the guest of honor...
I ain't rude to do that... It's just my way of testing people
I don't want someone to be my friend who can't take my jokes ...
I found my first friend there. He didn't talk much. I was the one who did most of the talking...
I can call him the Guy d'average...
Average looks, average physique, average marks, average everything
This guy is someone who can be manipulated easily but they are a great person to be a friend with...
Most probably cause they believe everything that you say and they are unlikely to be a rebel.
So he's like a medium strength warrior in the game with all average aspects
He's Guy d'average...

I found Mr.Tenecious on the submission day when I found he's the guy with a complete journal
Well dressed, never cusses, never late to the college and all the submission work is up-to-date...
I bunked a couple lectures and he started preaching me how it will affect my attendance
I thought of punching him in on his fucking nose... But then I thought
I have a lot of assignments to be completed... So postponed  the plan... So selfish!!!
Now, assignments in engineering course are so many that you can forget to brush your teeth someday but...
Teacher won't forget to give you an assignment everyday.

Other guy I befriended is a Romeo.
Romeo is a guy who is always in touch of his lover regardless of the fact that she studies in a different college.
These guys will always be keeping their Juliet in front of you, but they can give a great advice while getting yours.
It's always safe to have an attorney by your side if you're planning to start a business.

Then  comes Dr.Workoholic
These guys study like hell, score like hell and they make me embarrassed in front of my parents... Like hell
I hope he just understands that he should set a standard what other students can live upon...
This was my team I made after talking to a lot of folks
No doubt I have people to take care of my academic, social and other lives
I am ready for the challenges that come in my way!!!
We are like a crew of pirates on a voyage of finding the treasure one piece...
But the truth is... The treasure will be just one piece of paper we get after 4 years.
And for that one piece, we have to write thousands of pieces of papers...
We are ready... Are you?

I'd surely write something about the CR's in the coming blogs...
I have to fabricate a bit cause everything's cool between the CR's and the students ("till now...lol")
Thanks again for the suggestion and your appreciation!

Fake influencers: The agents of manufactured reality

Fake influencers: The agents of manufactured reality How many public figures do you follow on various social media platforms? It’s great to be up-to-date with what’s going on in their life, isn’t it? Maybe you’re a big fan of his/her work or post feed. Their presence on social media ensures that they stay relevant to the culture and give their followers a chance to get a peek into their lives. A good amount of following can be used to create awareness, raise money for a cause and create a strong community. On the flip-side, it can also be used to push products/courses that benefit only the ones who sell them, and imbibe ideologies that are biased and serve no good to society. Many of such influencers sell us manufactured reality time and time again. It can severely affect our well-being as being the consumers of the same. There’s a lot of political tension in the world. People divide themselves based on countries, beliefs, races, genders, and ideologies. Most of them are ...

How did the professors adapt to online lectures?

How did the professors adapt to online lectures? Now that most of the colleges have started conducting lectures online, our monotonous lives have become even more monotonous. Waking up, attending lectures, completing the work assigned to us by the professors, and having some time for ourselves at the end of the day has become the new normal. The online education platforms have been a challenge for all of us that we have adapted to quite successfully. But we’re Gen Z! Most of us touch their phone first even before they touch their toothbrush in the morning. We have made technology a vital part of our lives. What about the ones who haven’t? What about the professors? Well, the online lectures were started right after the lockdown in the last academic year. It was like the resort to completing the syllabus and not the exact substitute for classroom lectures. But as it wasn’t safe to reopen the institutes while students’ academic year was seemingly going to waste, the online l...

The Real Superhero...

The Real Superhero... You meet a lot of people in your life and most people will be forgotten with time. But, some people always have some influence over you even though you've lost the touch with them. Some people just take you back in time to remind you of the lessons you learned from them. Maybe you don't know everything about them, but something about them just tells that he/she is a kind person than he/she appears to be. This post is about one such person whom my parents don't even know about, he's no more but he has inspired me a lot during my childhood. This is a story of a man, who lived by his own rules, This is the story of an engineer, who was full of compassion but still lived a lonely life, This is a story of an introvert, who shared a great bond with kids, This story is about Uncle Dinesh. Uncle Dinesh was an engineer and in his late 60's when I first met him. His apartment was a level below mine. I never knew he existed even though I...
