Fresher's fever

Fresher's fever

Now that we've done with our busy schedule, it's time to take a break and enjoy a bit...
Yes... I'm talking about the fresher's party!!!
But can all students really enjoy the party?
Let's take the case...

The biggest irony of life is... Happiness comes for a price
What do I mean by this opening statement?
Well, after 1 month of tedious lectures, practicals and work we hear about the fresher's party!!!.... Wait... What?
It's after our midterm exams! No way
This is what happens in most of the colleges.

I guess you know how it goes after this.
The ones who have prepared real hard for the exams score good... And the ones who have not, score terrible.
So it's clear that the ones who score enjoy,
The ones who don't,...cry... Not because they scored low but because of their unwillingness of enjoying the party!
The midterm score was like a bomb on the class.
And with every score declared, it was turning worse for some.

The ones who scored were super cool at the party... They danced, ate, talked, laughed
The party was all about them!

The ones who flunked subjects wanted to... but couldn't enjoy the party
McBurgers were distributed among the students along with cartoned fruit drink
So the stomachs were happy
Music was being played at the venue.
The Bollywood dance music... Many beats... Many singers...I wonder how people manage to dance to those beats!

And I was looking at the people who were dancing and enjoying while sipping the juice like Zayn Mallik !
Now don't get me wrong...I didn't fail in any test neither do I sing like Zayn,
But we both have one thing in common...
We both dance terribly.
I didn't wanted to make a joke out of me in the first month itself.

People danced, people watched, people ate...I left the party soon after I finished eating my burger... Introvert remember?

Truly, the party gave what the students wanted
Food for the hungry,
Music for the hyperactives,
A break for the stressed outs,
And a good opportunity for the people like me to socialize...
I missed that opportunity.
Maybe I'll dance in the college festival...
Don't laugh or judge me please...
I've already told you I'm a terrible dancer!

Fake influencers: The agents of manufactured reality

Fake influencers: The agents of manufactured reality How many public figures do you follow on various social media platforms? It’s great to be up-to-date with what’s going on in their life, isn’t it? Maybe you’re a big fan of his/her work or post feed. Their presence on social media ensures that they stay relevant to the culture and give their followers a chance to get a peek into their lives. A good amount of following can be used to create awareness, raise money for a cause and create a strong community. On the flip-side, it can also be used to push products/courses that benefit only the ones who sell them, and imbibe ideologies that are biased and serve no good to society. Many of such influencers sell us manufactured reality time and time again. It can severely affect our well-being as being the consumers of the same. There’s a lot of political tension in the world. People divide themselves based on countries, beliefs, races, genders, and ideologies. Most of them are ...

Can FAUG replace PUBG in India?

Can FAUG replace PUBG in India? 26 January it is! Finally, after months of delay and advertising, the game ‘FAUG’ will be launched. The announcement of this game was done right after PUBG was banned. PUBG was the most popular game in India at that given time. It was beautifully crafted by its developers and was capable of giving a seamless experience even to the users with mid-budget phones. It had servers all over the globe to ensure a proper user experience. With that being said, it’s a challenge for the developers of FAUG to deliver a game based on the benchmark set by PUBG. Can they nail it? Is FAUG really worth the hype? Mobile Gaming in India: It’s appreciable that a Company from a country where the mobile gaming industry is booming is developing an actual multiplayer game. To be honest, it’s not an easy task. Along with the graphics and the physics of the game, networking should also be taken care of. And looking at what PUBG had delivered us, it is a big challen...

A Sports festival with joy and sorrow

A Sports festival with joy and sorrow Just like every year, our college organized the annual sports festival! Everyone was happy and busy preparing for the festival. Students were selecting the teams for the different sports. Football, Cricket, Basketball, Relay races, and various indoor games were to be played in the college playground. The ground was leveled, the turf was cleaned and everything was set. 3 days at the sports festival gave us a chance to refresh our minds and a reason to bunk the lectures. Every college organizes such a festival. And if you look for yourself, all the names given to these sports festivals are weird sounding like the era of WW2. I’m pretty much impressed that such names manage to attract sponsors. Anyway, this event is pretty much fun. Some colleges allow participation from other colleges. This increases the competition, the crowd and the sponsors (Wink Wink). In our college, classes from all the branches and years form te...
