Choosing the class representative...

Choosing the CR?

Now what is CR?... The question should be, who is the CR?
CR stands for class representative...
Now, CR is someone who actually acts as a bridge between the teachers and the students...
Now what actually a CR is supposed to do?
How are they elected?
How is their relation with all the students?
Are they a bridge or they create a big gap between the teachers and the students?
Hopefully...I got some answers!

I remember the day when class mentor asked us about the student who has scored the highest in the entrance exams.
Many students had almost the same marks. So, he had to filter all the students to a boy and a girl...
They both were the CR's...
The people who wanted to become a CR were a bit sad but people like me were napping on the last bench in this election process.
Honestly, I am neither happy nor sad over who wins the elections...
Government changes, they profit, they prosper but all the citizens stay in the same place
India is still a developing country...
Prices of commodities keep on rising...
I'll be voting for the first time though
So, I try to exclude myself from any type of process which includes me judging others.
After I cast my vote, there's no point in regretting... But it's my responsibility.

Both the CR's were chosen and some people (including me) started to think, the class was better without a representative.
From a young age, we are familiar to the monitor of the class thing( CR is more or less the same).
I've experienced monitors acting as if they own authority greater than that to the teacher.
Maybe it is because of the age, the world's different but hell yeah they bully students...!
Now, if you are about to tell me that you were a good monitor...
Forget it I've been a monitor myself, I did the same thing and I considered myself the kindest person...!
No doubt I did not want an 18 year old me bullied by a student I don't know...

Yes the process was a rush... The mentor should have given us more time to know people and then decide who will be elected...
See, IQ and EQ are two different things.
I think CR is position where a person should possess a good amount of EQ and maturity.
Luckily, the CR's elected in our class possessed both... But the fact that we didn't know them as person created misunderstandings in the initial stage.
It's all good now.

I've heard from friends from other colleges or branches about the CR's who actually piss students off by acting too prudent.
Scolding and complaining stuff.
Your 18 dude!!! No need to act as an 70 year old retired officer from FBI...
Show responsibility, guide students, you don't run the college!

My relation with the CR is pretty decent.
( Till now...)
I've never placed myself in an objectionable situation.( Till now...)
I've never did anything worth complaining
(Till now...)
Let's see what happens
If something ever goes wrong, I need to contest for elections in the next year!!!
For that I need to gather some public support.
Need to socialize, got a lot of work to do!
I think I should establish a party...
All Indian engineering students party!

( Let's talk about the elections which will be held soon...
Ditch that Hangout, ditch that Date and ditch every other reason which takes you further away from the polling booth!
You can change your CR every year but it's not the same when it comes to the country.
Go vote! Your vote counts!)

Fake influencers: The agents of manufactured reality

Fake influencers: The agents of manufactured reality How many public figures do you follow on various social media platforms? It’s great to be up-to-date with what’s going on in their life, isn’t it? Maybe you’re a big fan of his/her work or post feed. Their presence on social media ensures that they stay relevant to the culture and give their followers a chance to get a peek into their lives. A good amount of following can be used to create awareness, raise money for a cause and create a strong community. On the flip-side, it can also be used to push products/courses that benefit only the ones who sell them, and imbibe ideologies that are biased and serve no good to society. Many of such influencers sell us manufactured reality time and time again. It can severely affect our well-being as being the consumers of the same. There’s a lot of political tension in the world. People divide themselves based on countries, beliefs, races, genders, and ideologies. Most of them are ...

How did the professors adapt to online lectures?

How did the professors adapt to online lectures? Now that most of the colleges have started conducting lectures online, our monotonous lives have become even more monotonous. Waking up, attending lectures, completing the work assigned to us by the professors, and having some time for ourselves at the end of the day has become the new normal. The online education platforms have been a challenge for all of us that we have adapted to quite successfully. But we’re Gen Z! Most of us touch their phone first even before they touch their toothbrush in the morning. We have made technology a vital part of our lives. What about the ones who haven’t? What about the professors? Well, the online lectures were started right after the lockdown in the last academic year. It was like the resort to completing the syllabus and not the exact substitute for classroom lectures. But as it wasn’t safe to reopen the institutes while students’ academic year was seemingly going to waste, the online l...

The Real Superhero...

The Real Superhero... You meet a lot of people in your life and most people will be forgotten with time. But, some people always have some influence over you even though you've lost the touch with them. Some people just take you back in time to remind you of the lessons you learned from them. Maybe you don't know everything about them, but something about them just tells that he/she is a kind person than he/she appears to be. This post is about one such person whom my parents don't even know about, he's no more but he has inspired me a lot during my childhood. This is a story of a man, who lived by his own rules, This is the story of an engineer, who was full of compassion but still lived a lonely life, This is a story of an introvert, who shared a great bond with kids, This story is about Uncle Dinesh. Uncle Dinesh was an engineer and in his late 60's when I first met him. His apartment was a level below mine. I never knew he existed even though I...
